Great news! As of today, Shine Literacy shows as a participating cause on Leanpub’s Participating Causes page. We’re getting closer to the official launch of the book. Big thank you to Hanli van Aswegen at Shine Literacy (see Shine Literacy team), and to Len Epp of Leanpub (see Leanpub team) for making this happen.
When we considered directing to a charity any royalties from the sales of Volume 1, we consulted with Louise Perold and Cindy Carless, organizers of Let’s Test South Africa. They wholeheartedly recommended Shine Literacy. This organization has established Centers in Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu- Natal, offering training to organizations and individuals to get children reading, addressing South Africa’s educational crisis.
We reached out to Shine Literacy, and to Leanpub (who generously offered to waive the upfront book creation fee on leanpub, given our charity objective) and soon the two organizations arranged so that Shine Literacy can benefit from the sales of the book.
